Important Uploading Instructions
1.    The truck must be parked on level ground for unloading. If not, have the driver move the truck to a level area.

2.     Personnel should stand clear of the truck if not involved in the unloading.

3.     Check the load to ensure that all wooden chocks are securely in place on both ends of all timbers. If not, nail a chock or other suitable wedge into position.  At no time should the chocks be removed! The chocks prevent pipe from rolling after removing the steel bands. Do not remove the binding chains or slings securing the load until the chocks have been checked.

4.     Pipe shall be unloaded with fork trucks or cranes using slings.

5.     If pipe are unloaded in less than full rows, the steel bands should be cut and removed only from the row being unloaded.

6.     It may be necessary to stand on the load to cut or remove the steel bands. Do not remain on the load after the bands are cut.

7.     Steel bands should be cut using only longhandled bolt cutters or other appropriate band cutting tools since bands are under tension and will spring when cut. Do not cut the bands by impact with a hammer, axe, chisel, or other similar tools.

8.     If pipe are unloaded in full rows, do not cut the bands until the row is safety lowered and placed on the ground.

*Warning: Do not roll or drop pipe off of trucks! This is extremely dangerous to unloading personnel and will damage the pipe.
